This dataset will be built using instruments from
Mission Group 3: Medium-Resolution Land & Ocean Monitoring (imaging multispectral radiometers)
Desired product specifications
Products shall be
- TOA reflectances (~L1A)
- L3 (bi-weekly and bi-monthly composites from orthorectified, atmospherically-corrected surface reflectances)
- Geolocation accuracy <80-100m for MR products
- Geolocation accuracy <300m for LR resolution data
- DEM to be used for bi-weekly/bi-monthly composites = GETASSE30
- Projection: "lat-lon geographic WGS 84" for composites
- Format: GeoTIFF for MR composites; HDF for LR composites
- Pre-processing: 300m delivery of bi-weekly and bi-monthly syntheses matching at least the quality achieved for GLOBCOVER (remaining atmospheric noise should not be perceivable in time series profiles of bi-weekly products, spatial patterns due to atmospheric effects must be an order of magnitude lower than the spatial patterns due to the natural landscape).
- SWIR useful for free water detection, mixed vegetation & water detection, discrimination cloud/snow.

- 12/2008 for new acquisitions (Africa)
- 12/2008 for new acquisitions (Europe)
Timeliness (negotiation ongoing):
- Level1A TOA reflectance in NRT (alternative: Fast24h)

- Normal for composites (10-daily, bi-weekly and bi-monthly)
