MDA (V2) Operational Readiness Review (ORR) Successfully Passed on September 29, 2011

10 November 2011

MDA has successfully finalized the development activities for interfacing the Radarsat-2 Ground Segment with the Coordinated Data Access System (CDS).
These activities augment those undertaken in the previous development phase (V1 Phase completed in 2010) as well as the HMA early developments that have been customized for the GSCDA needs. One of the main outcomes of this activity allow users to browse through RADARSAT-2 collections via the GMES client. In addition, the automated HMA ordering interface coupled with the CDS emergency tool is supported, together with improved metadata exchange and reporting to CDS. The new features are expected to further relieve manual operations and improve overall system performances and integration.

"MDA GSI is looking forward to continuing to serve  the GMES program with these new enhancements, and see  the HMA Catalogue ordering as a step forward to improving access to the large archive of RADARSAT-2 data. With these system enhancements RADARSAT-2 data will be available in a faster and easier way. Response time to data requests (either on archive or new acquisition) are reduced which is crucial when dealing with natural and man-made disasters" said Wendy Branson, MDA GSI Project Manager.
