01 December 2010
Following the orbit manoeuvres to move ENVISAT into the new lower orbit, ENVISAT Altimeter data from 21:37 UTC on 02 November 2010 (orbit #45360) have been examined and are now available for use.
Initial testing indicates that all parameters except those derived from the MicroWave Radiometer are as expected with no anomalies, though further testing is required to confirm this initial finding. Indications are that the MicroWave Radiometer is not yet stabilised and a further note will be issued when these measurements are regarded as nominal.
Note also that Fast Delivery altimetry data over ice from 02 November to 29 November may be degraded as a new ice slope model is required for the new orbit, which has been implemented from 08:55 UTC on 29 November (Orbit #45739). IGDR and GDR data produced by the FPAC continues to be affected after this date. A later note will advise when the new slope model has been implemented for these data.
