As planned (see previous Envisat news) the orbit of the Envisat satellite has been lowered of 17.4 Km with a series of manoeuvres starting from 22 October. On 26 October Envisat has successfully reached the target orbit and re-started generating data products which are being used to perform the first verification tests.
The preliminary analysis shows a good quality of the data products received so far from most of the instruments. The first steps of the verification will be completed in time to gradually make available all the data products to users starting from 2nd November, as planned. A disclaimer will be added to the data products until a full quality verification (including recalibration or validation) is performed for each data type.
