Envisat Altimetry RA-2 processing degraded

21October 2010

The ENVISAT Altimetry production is degraded since 19 October 2010 (starting from orbit #45148) due to a problem with the MWR Level 0 data generation.

The impact is a degradation in the FDGDR,IGDR and meteo Altimetry data products of the MWR parameters:

• MWR wet tropospheric correction
• MWR liquid water content
• MWR water vapour content
• Interpolated brightness temperatures at 23.8 and 36.5 Ghz and their standard deviations.

Users are advised to not consider these parameters for further processing.

The issue is under investigation and work is on-going to solve the problem.
