Introducing Derby 3.0 - ESA Edition
14 June 2010 - ESA and GAEL Consultant introduced today the Derby 3.0 – ESA Edition software, a data browser and viewer capable of exploring a large variety of Earth Observation product types and formats among those of the GMES Contributing Missions (GCM). Now available for download, Derby is the free and easy way to get instant access to the GCM products in native formats from a single desktop application running on almost all operating systems.
Derby is a data browser capable of exploring product types from the GMES Contributing Missions (GCM) in their native formats. Derby could be compared to most file managers made available with your operating systems, however it is not limited to the display of text files: more than most modern file managers, it allows browsing “on the fly” the content of compressed files and of many other file types such as XML, HDF, NetCDF, ENVISAT, ERS, Radarsat 2, RapideEye, etc. More than a thousand types are already available according to the selected configuration, within the same application and up to the lowest level of the visited file structure.
