MERIS RR Cloud-free services available for Category 1 users

10 June 2010 - The MERIS RR Cloud-free services are added value services which allow Category 1 users to retreive MERIS Level 1 Reduced Resolution products with a cloud cover under a treshold defined by them.

Two different types of services are now available on the Service Support Enviroment (SSE) Portal:

• The MERIS RR Cloud-free Product allows Category 1 service users to search and download MERIS Level 1 Reduced Resolution products which have been ingested in the Image Information Mining System (IIM-System) catalogue.
  
  The service allows users performing enhanced catalogue searches to specify : the Area of Interest (AOI), the Time of Interest (TOI) and a cloud coverage threshold over the AOI.
   
• The MERIS RR Cloud-free Subscription Service actively informs users when MERIS Reduced Resolution products are available in the rolling archives with cloud coverage below the user defined threshold.
  
  The MERIS Cloud-free Subscription Service, for the subscription period (e.g. 5 days) and at time intervals (e.g. each 12 hours) specified by the subscriber, automatically provides a link to download the MERIS Level 1 Reduced Resolution products transiting in the rolling archives within each time interval, touching the specified area of interest and having, within the area of interest, cloud coverage less than the specified threshold.

The services are currently available free of charge to authorised MERIS Category 1 users only (authorisation can be obtained by submitting a Category-1 proposal).
