Derby 3.1 - ESA Edition
GSCDA DataSets are composed of EO products from several GMES Contributing Missions, in a large variety of product types in native formats. In order to support the users in exploring the various products regardless of their formats, ESA has procured a multi-format product browser: the Derby tool.
The Derby tool, developed by GAEL Consultant, is a data browser capable of exploring product types from the GMES Contributing Missions (GCM) in their native formats. Derby could be compared to most file managers made available with your operating systems, however it is not limited to the display of text files: more than most modern file managers, it allows browsing “on the fly” of the content of compressed files and of many other file types such as XML, HDF, NetCDF, ENVISAT, ERS, Radarsat 2, RapideEye, etc. More than a thousand types are already available according to the selected configuration, within the same application and up to the lowest level of the visited file structure.

Derby 3.1 is based on DRB API that helps developers accessing inside data. This library is LGPL3 licensed software. It is accompanied with a tutorial that helps getting started with DRB on EO data.
